Original Italian Miniature Oil Painting Renaissance Inspired Portrait
$93.66 $117.07
A true curiosity — an original Italian miniature oil painting, approximately the size of a matchbox (5 x 3 cm).
Painted on varnished paper imported from Milan, this tiny portrait carries a strong Renaissance revival influence. The elongated face, softened expression, and architectural background echo classical Italian painting traditions in an intimate, collectible format.
Despite its scale, the brushwork is expressive and confident. The piece is beautifully framed, allowing the miniature to read like a jewel within its mount.
Likely dating to the mid-20th century, this type of miniature was often created as a studio study or collector’s object — a small but meaningful work of art.
